MiDAS Training – Making Minibus Driving Safer and Easier
MiDAS (Minibus Driver Awareness Scheme) is a training program designed to help minibus drivers improve their skills and drive safely. Run by the Community Transport Association, it’s a nationally recognized standard that ensures drivers are confident and capable on the road.
Access Plymouth have been serving people in the city via their Dial A Ride and Minibus Hire services for more than ten years. Our experienced trainer and drivers provide a knowledgeable, experienced service for all our trainees.
Who We Train
We offer MiDAS training for schools and voluntary organizations or anyone who drives a minibus as part of their role. Our trainer can also provide sessions off-site if needed.

A 90-minute, interactive e-learning session covering everything you need to know about legal responsibilities and safe driving.
MiDAS Accessible Course
Who is it for?
If you’ll be driving passengers with disabilities or using a minibus with specialist equipment like lifts and ramps, this course is essential. You must complete the MiDAS Standard course before taking this one.

Assessment
- A theory test
- A practical skills test
MiDAS Refresher Course
To keep your MiDAS certificate valid, you’ll need to take a refresher course every four years.
